CRER Cares, in partnership with 235 Insurance, delivered 100 meals to Little Company of Mary Medical Center

CRER Cares purchased 100 meals from Harold’s Chicken for the entire staff at A Safe Haven’s homeless shelter at 2750 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago. Since they began in 1994, A Safe Haven in North Lawndale has grown to serve an average of 5,000 homeless people annually. These people come from all family make-ups, backgrounds and ages, including many veterans. A Safe Haven’s headquarters and associated transitional housing facility houses 400 homeless people and employs a staff of more than 100 people on site on a daily basis. The 140,000-square-foot facility is also where the homeless residents eat, sleep, receive social services, education, and job training, and live in a supportive community, 365/7/24.

During this coronavirus pandemic, the demand on A Safe Haven’s services is enormous as the homeless are clamoring for a place to live to be safe and well nourished. A Safe Haven’s team has rallied and are 100% committed to doing their part. Please join us in supporting and thanking A Safe Haven for everything they have been doing for the homeless over the past 26 years. They are on the front lines of this pandemic and their services are often overlooked in a time of crises. The meals were purchased from Harold’s Chicken in the South Loop. Mahde, the owner and operator, is a small business owner we were glad to support. With the Loop almost empty and schools closed, please do what you can to support Mahde and his staff!

A special thanks to CRER Brokers Timothy Keenan and Nate Gautsche for personally delivering the meal..
